On receiving the plans and spreading them out over the
entire floor (whats the size larger than A0?) I could see they described
a boat, but past that I had little idea where to begin. Help was needed
and it came in the form of a book that is now my personal bible (again
more regret in having to defer to the Yanks), obtained from that
fabulous place, Amazon.
How to Build Glued-Lapstrake Wooden Boats (Does what it says on the tin...) is one of the most comprehensive and useful books I have ever come across - very good for a carpenter with no previous boat-building experience it manages to tell me everything I need to know without being patronising. Okay so the guy does have a ginger moustache but he knows his stuff.
